Canada Votes 2025: Ajax Regional Councillor Sterling Lee

14 Days, 2 Weeks.

Thats how long until Voters in Canada head to the ballot boxes to mark their ballots in the 45 General Election on April 28th.

Over the course of the federal campaign, we have been speaking with municipal leaders from coast to coast to coast.

Our goal is to simply find out what municipalities want to see addressed in this pivotal election?

From housing to infrastructure, From bail reform to resource development, and from agriculture to social services, municipalities across Canada are tackling a wide range of challenges.

But they can’t do it alone. They need a strong and reliable partner at the federal level to help build stronger, more resilient communities.

Today, we are exploring the riding of Ajax, in the Greater Toronto Area.

Before the 45th General Election, The Riding of Ajax was held by the Hon. Mark Holland, who was the Minister of Health from 2023 to 2024, and before that was Leader of the Government in the House of Commons from 2021 to 2023.

Ajax is seen as one of the safer ridings in the County for the Liberal Party of Canada. From 2004 to 2011, the riding of Pickering-Ajax was represented by Mark Holland, and then in 2011, the Riding was picked up by Chris Alexander of the Conservative Party of Canada.

From 2015 to the time of the dissolution of parliament, Holland served in the new riding of Ajax.

To discuss the wants and the needs of riding, of Ajax, we are pleased to be joined by Ajax Regional Councillor Sterling Lee.

Without further ado, let's go.
