This is Municipal Affairs: Canada Votes 2025, were here to find out what Municipalities want from Party Leaders, Local Candidates and the next Federal Government.
From housing to infrastructure, From bail reform to resource development, and agriculture to social services. Municipalities across Canada are tackling a wide range of challenges.
But they can’t do it alone.
They need a strong and reliable partner at the federal level to help build stronger, more resilient communities.
Today, we are exploring the riding of Chatham-Kent—Leamington.
Before the 45th General Election, the Municipality of Chatham Kent was in two ridings. the first being Chatham-Kent—Leamington, and the second Lambton—Kent—Middlesex which consisted of all of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent north of the Thames River.
Since the ridings have been redrawn. The Municipality of Chatham Kent has been put into one riding in 2025.
Dave Epp the Conservative Party MP fro the old riding of Chatham-Kent—Leamington will be running in the newly redrawn riding of Chatham-Kent—Leamington.
Since 2015, the Riding has been held, in most parts, by a Conservative Member of Parliament. From 2015-2019, Dave Van Western held the riding, while from 2019 to 2025, Dave Epp held it.
To discuss the wants and the needs of riding, and the Municipality of Chatham Kent, Ontario we are pleased to be joined by Chatham Kent Alysson Storey.
