The Rt. Hon Mary Simon, Canada's Governor General announced that she had tested positive for COVID-19, days after her husband Whit had tested positive.

Simon said in a statement, "I am currently experiencing mild symptoms."

She added, "I will continue to self-isolate and will take some time to rest in coming days.

"As Whit and I are experiencing first-hand, we are not out of this pandemic yet, but we have made tremendous progress," the Canada's Governor General stated.

Earlier this week, the Viceregal Consort of Canada Whit Fraser had tested positive. The announcement from Rideau Hall came with the message that he was experiencing mild symptoms.

This news comes after Prime Minsiter Trudeau had tested positive early last week after two of his children tested positive.
