Municipal Affairs For September 18th, 2023

Welcome to "Municipal Affairs," a groundbreaking show dedicated to delving deep into the matters that shape municipalities across Canada. We're excited to bring you insightful stories, engaging discussions, and exclusive interviews with municipal leaders from coast to coast to coast.
Today on the show, the Reeve of Vulcan County, Alberta gives his insights on the pause on new renewable energy projects in the province. and what it means for his Rural Municipality.
Then last week the Federation of Canadian Municipalities met virtually to discuss the key priorities of Municipalities. This meeting was expected to be in Yellowknife, but due to the Wildfires earlier in August, the Board Meeting was moved virtually.
The topic of Strategic Planning has been coming up a lot, so we spoke with Strategic Steps Inc. President Ian McCormack about what goes into a Strategic Priority for the Council.
And finally, one of the last remaining communities that prohibits the sale of alcohol has ended the prohibition of alcohol sales in the small Alberta Town.
