SARM New Lead Breaks Ground

Writer's picture: Municipal Affairs Municipal Affairs

Welcome to Municipal Affairs, Today, we’re talking about a milestone moment for rural Saskatchewan.

Change is in the air at the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities—better known as SARM—as a new leader takes the helm. Laurel Feltin officially stepped into the role of Executive Director in December, marking not just a transition in leadership, but a historic first.

After 20 years of dedication to SARM, and nearly a decade in leadership roles, Feltin isn’t just taking on a new title—she’s making history as the first woman to hold this position.

For Feltin, this isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. She’s passionate about rural Saskatchewan, about the communities that roll up their sleeves and get things done. And as she steps into this role, she’s committing to listening, learning, and, above all, strengthening relationships with the people SARM represents.

But what does this change mean for the future of rural Saskatchewan? How will her leadership shape SARM’s direction? And as she prepares for her first Annual Convention as Executive Director, what’s at the top of her agenda?

We’ll get into all of that and more as we sit down with Laurel Feltin, SARM’s new Executive Director.

Stay with us—this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
