Sooke mayor acclaimed as NDP Federal Candidate

Sooke British Columbia Mayor Maja Tait has been acclaimed as the Federal NDP Candidate for the riding of Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke, setting the stage for an exciting electoral battle in the upcoming federal election.

Tait's decision to step into federal politics marks a significant transition for a politician who has built a strong reputation at the municipal level.

Tait's political journey began in 2008 when she was first elected as a Councillor in the District of Sooke. Her dedication and commitment to serving her community quickly became apparent, leading to her re-election in 2011. However, it was in 2014 that Tait decided to take the leap into the mayoral race, a decision that would ultimately reshape her political trajectory.
