In Tillsonburg, just on the border of Oxford County, I had an enlightening conversation with an elderly woman and her grandchild. When I inquired about the local warden, her immediate and accurate response—“Marcus is his name, he’s from Zorra. Nice guy. You should go find him, he loves to talk”—was a testament to the deep local awareness and involvement in community matters.

Such instances shattered any preconceived notions of political disengagement often attributed to rural areas. Instead, they revealed a community that is not only actively engaged in local politics but also deeply invested in the welfare of its residents.
